2. Queen Victoria Statue

Immediately in front of the Library is a statue of Queen Victoria which was erected and unveiled in 1903. At the time of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897, a movement to raise funds for the statue was started. E Roscoe Mullins of London was the sculptor and the stone is Sicilian marble. The statue was restored in 1992.
